September 1-30, 2024

Join us for our annual church and ministry-wide time of rest.

We believe that God calls us to serve and fulfill His great work. We also know He calls us to routinely, step away and find rest in Jesus.

Our annual SOLACE Rest is a special time of prayer, fasting, journaling, and growing in an intimate relationship with Jesus. It is also a time to concentrate on self-care and to strengthen family bonds and friendships through the Ministry of Presence—reconnecting with our loved ones and friends by being actively present in their lives.

You're invited to take a step of faith and join us this month as we rest and recharge.

"The apostles returned to Jesus and told him all that they had done and taught. And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat." ~ Mark 6:30-31 ESV

As we read further in this passage, the people saw them and followed them, and intercepted them on their way. The miracle of feeding the five thousand soon followed.

Earlier in this passage Jesus had commissioned the twelve disciples. He sent them out two by two to preach the message of repentance. It tells us that Jesus empowered them with "authority over unclean spirits." (Mark 6:7b). They "cast out many demons and anointed with oil many who were sick and healed them." (Mark 6:13). It goes without saying that they were likely exhausted. Jesus recognized this and invited them to rest.

We choose to accept Jesus' invitation to come away with Him and rest.

Often when we think about JOY, we think of celebratory moments. Commotions filled with laughter, music, and great food all centered around triumphant victories. Yes, these moments could certainly be considered "joyous", yet when we look to the Scripture, we find that JOY is a character trait that is comprised of much, much more.

When we read John 15:11, nestled within this passage of red letter text (considered as the direct words of Jesus), we find this one sentence that shifts everything, “I have spoken these things to you so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete."

Throughout this SOLACE Rest, we are going to explore "Jesus' joy that He so generously extends to us."
